A little over a year since it was announced, The Book of Boba Fett<\/a> is finally landing on Disney Plus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new series was teased in a post-credits scene<\/a> featured as part of The Mandalorian<\/a>\u2019s season two finale, \u2018The Rescue\u2019, which saw bounty hunter Boba Fett \u2013 played by Temuera Morrison \u2013 take over Jabba the Hutt\u2019s palace and sit on the crime lord\u2019s throne.<\/p>\n

Exactly what fans can expect from the new series is unclear, though we do know that Boba\u2019s ally Fennec Shand (a sniper played by Ming-Na Wen) will also play a major role \u2013 no surprise, after The Mandalorian\u2019s post-credits scene saw the character swigging a drink as she lounged alongside Tattooine\u2019s new crime boss.<\/p>\n

It seems likely that The Book of Boba Fett will focus on its title character\u2019s continuing drive to gain control over what was Jabba\u2019s Empire, having murdered Jabba\u2019s lieutenant Bib Fortuna (who seemed to have taken over following the Hutt\u2019s death in Return of the Jedi).<\/p>\n

Indeed, a trailer released in November<\/a> picked up where that post-credits scene left off, with Boba and Fennec seen negotiating a relationship with the crime lords that dominate the wretched hive of scum and villainy also known as Tatooine.<\/p>\n

But how many episodes of The Book of Boba Fett will there be and when will the season finale arrive on Disney Plus? Read on for everything you need to know.<\/p>

How many episodes of The Book of Boba Fett are there?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Book of Boba Fett is set to launch on Disney Plus on Wednesday, 29th December\u00a0<\/strong>and will consist of seven episodes.<\/p>\n

The official Star Wars website<\/a> has confirmed that these episodes will be released \u201cweekly\u201d, which seems to rule out any surprise double-bills, e.g. the final two episodes being dropped at once.<\/p>\n

The Mandalorian\u2019s Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will serve as executive producers, alongside director Robert Rodriguez, who\u00a0will also be directing several episodes of the spin-off show, while Favreau, Filoni and Bryce Dallas Howard will each be helming at least one episode each.<\/p>\n

According to Ming-Na Wen, The Book of Boba Fett will be \u201cmore like a take on gangster movies\u201d as opposed to The Mandalorian\u2019s more \u2018space Western\u2019 vibe (via Entertainment Weekly<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to see [Boba\u2019s] past and where he\u2019s been since The Empire Strikes Back,\u201d Morrison told Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. \u201cSomebody pointed out he\u2019s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now\u2019s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.\u201d<\/p>\n
