The new year kicks off with a bang on BBC One as Jamie Dornan fronts The Tourist<\/a>, an offbeat mystery thriller from The Missing and Baptiste writers Harry and Jack Williams.<\/p>\n

The six-parter sees Dornan play \u201cThe Man\u201d, who wakes up in the Australian outback after a road accident with amnesia. Using the few clues at his disposal, The Man must piece together his identity, but he might not like what he discovers \u2013 it turns out he\u2019s running from a past he can\u2019t remember, and someone wants him dead.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tourist is a departure from anything we\u2019ve written before,\u201d said the Williams brothers. \u201cIt isn\u2019t an easy show to categorise \u2013 so we won\u2019t. We are, however, hugely excited to have Chris Sweeney on board as director, and to be making this for the BBC. We\u2019re thankful for their support of this ambitious project.\u201d<\/p>\n
