<\/p>
The Karate Kid franchise\u2019s transition from the big to the small screen has been a mightily impressive one \u2013 with spin-off series Cobra Kai<\/a> continuing to delight audiences and critics four seasons into its run.<\/p>\n But star Ralph Macchio hasn\u2019t ruled out a return to the big screen for the series at some point in the future, revealing that a new film could be an option further down the line.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not closing the door on anything,\u201d he said when asked about the possibility of another movie during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce this worked on this level, I would be foolish to say, \u2018But that won\u2019t work.\u2019 I am open to all that \u2013 of course, with the right content and execution.\u201d<\/p>\n For now though, Macchio\u2019s main concern is making sure Cobra Kai has the opportunity to fully play out its story, with the time to focus on other projects coming after that.<\/p>\n \u201cEven though they say, \u2018Cobra Kai never dies,\u2019 at some point, we will have to wind up this series and tie up the stories properly,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd hopefully, Netflix gives us that opportunity to finish it and then is up for other chapters in other ways.\u201d<\/p> Macchio starred as Daniel LaRusso in three Karate Kid films between 1984 and 1989, while there were a further two films without him in 1994 and 2010 respectively.<\/p>\n He returned for the first season of Cobra Kai in 2018 along with former co-star William Zabka, and the pair have been joined by several other stars from the original films throughout the show\u2019s run.<\/p>\n The fourth season of the show debuted on Netflix on Friday 31st December 2021, and a fifth season has already been announced \u2013 so Cobra Kai is showing no signs of coming to an end any time soon.<\/p>\n Cobra Kai seasons 1 to 4 are currently streaming on Netflix.\u00a0You can also read our guides to the\u00a0<\/b>best Netflix series<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/b>best Netflix movies<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0to keep you entertained, check out our\u00a0Drama<\/a>\u00a0hub for more news, interviews and features, or visit our\u00a0<\/b>TV guide<\/b><\/span><\/a> for more to watch.<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section><\/body><\/html>\n By Patrick Cremona Published: Wednesday, 05 January 2022 at 12:00 am The Karate Kid franchise\u2019s transition from the big to the small screen has been a mightily impressive one \u2013 with spin-off series Cobra Kai continuing to delight audiences and critics four seasons into its run.
