<\/p>
Ralf Little has teased that his Death in Paradise<\/a> character DI Neville Parker will be pushed \u201cout of his comfort zone\u201d in the upcoming 11th season.<\/p>\n The new season is set to include a skydiving sequence, which the more introverted Neville will be at the centre of (although it\u2019s not officially confirmed whether the character will definitely jump out of the plane\u2026).<\/p>\n Little, who has played the Saint-Marie detective since season nine, also teased that Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) \u201creally enjoys making Neville uncomfortable\u201d \u2013 as we\u2019ll see in the season opener.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve established who this guy [Neville] is and what he\u2019s good at and what he isn\u2019t. That said, you\u2019ve always got to challenge characters otherwise they get \u2013 it just gets too repetitive,\u201d Little explained during a press event attended by RadioTimes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s always nice to put him out of his comfort zone. [And] in this week\u2019s episode, the Commissioner in particular\u2026 really enjoys making Neville as uncomfortable and out of his comfort zone as possible. When Florence does that, it\u2019s like to help him [Neville] out. Whereas the Commissioner has just got a cruel streak.\u201d<\/p>\n At the same press event, Death in Paradise\u2019s executive producer Tim Key teased that the skydiving sequence would be \u201cvery true to Neville\u201d.<\/p> He said: \u201cWe have a skydiving episode, where there was a way of doing it without doing the skydiving but we really wanted to do the skydiving\u2026 At the very last minute, everything just fell into place.<\/p>\n \u201cOur amazing line producer and producer kind of made it all happen. And the skydiving team helped us out and we managed to get this incredible footage of that \u2013 the bit that I think the audience would be thinking, \u2018They never really did it\u2019. And then you\u2019ll see that we did! All I will say is that the entire sequence is very true to Neville.\u201d<\/p>\n Death in Paradise returns with series 11 on Friday, 7th January at 9pm on BBC One.
