Will Smith and Kate Winslet were among the celebrities who won big at the Golden Globe Awards 2022.<\/p>\n

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor Smith received the best actor in a motion picture drama for his performance in King Richard<\/a>, which sees the actor play the father of tennis icons Venus and Serena Williams, while Kate Winslet won her fourth Golden Globe for her role as a small-town detective in Mare Of Easttown<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was also a good night for Andrew Garfield who claimed the win for best actor in a musical or comedy for his performance in Tick, Tick\u2026 Boom!<\/a>, while Michaela Ja\u00e9 Rodriguez took home a Golden Globe for her role as Blanca in\u00a0Pose<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Succession<\/a> and its stars dominated three categories including Best Television Series, while The Power of the Dog<\/a> was named best drama film, with Jane Campion<\/a> awarded best director and Kodi Smit-McPhee best supporting drama actor.<\/p>\n

Billie Eilish\u2019s James Bond theme song No Time To Die<\/a> won the best original song at the ceremony.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event was heavily muted \u2013 it took place in Los Angeles without a broadcast partner, media presence, or any stars.<\/p>\n

The pared-down nature of the 2022 ceremony comes after allegations of a serious lack of diversity and ethical lapses in its voting body were made in 2021.<\/p>\n

TV network NBC cancelled its broadcast of the 2022 ceremony, more than 100 public relations firms announcing they would withdraw cooperation from the Globes, and a series of high-profile Hollywood stars including Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson and made public criticisms.<\/p>\n

As a result, the event was replaced by updates from the Golden Globes\u2019 social media accounts and website.<\/p>\n
