This one-day conference from Northamptonshire Family History Society includes four talks on family history. The first speaker is archivist Daniel Williams on ‘Religious Nonconformists’. The next talk, from genealogist Dave Annal, is ‘My Ancestor Was a Liar: Ignorance, Half-Truths or Wilful Deceit?’. The afternoon talks are ‘Researching and Writing Your Family History’ from Who Do You Think You Are? genealogist Dr Nick Barratt and ‘House Histories: Discover the Secrets Behind Your Front Door’ from Melanie Backe-
Hansen, consultant to BBC Two’s series A House Through Time. Staff from Northamptonshire Archives will be in attendance throughout the day and there will also be a bookstall and research services. £27.50 including a buffet lunch. Note that booking closes on 5 May.

For one night only TNA will be transformed into the 43 Club of 1920s London, owned by the notorious Kate Meyrick, to celebrate the release of the 1921 census. There will be live cabaret, jazz music and DJ sets, exclusive glimpses of TNA’s 1920s-themed exhibition, and curated cocktails and food. You’ll be able to catch a Charleston performance and chat to Kate and her staff. Costumes encouraged. Over-18s only. £12.
