Leading family history website Findmypast is offering free access to millions of its family history records to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day on 6 June 2024.
Family historians will be able to search all Findmypast’s records for free, apart from the 1921 census.
The free records include military records, parish records, census records before 1921 and Findmypast’s complete collection of over 79 million old newspaper pages.
The offer will run from 10am on Thursday 6 June 2024 to 10am on Monday 10 June 2024.
Jen Baldwin, Research Specialist at Findmypast said: “80 years on from D-Day and the stories of service and sacrifice remain extremely poignant and relevant to us today. We invite everyone to discover their own family’s wartime stories with free access to Findmypast’s records this weekend and preserve them for future generations.”
