The first episode of My Grandparents’ War follows Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who discovers his paternal grandfather’s extraordinary involvement in one of the 20th century’s most controversial spying operations. It’s not the first time Harington has dived into his family history on TV. In 2017, he played Robert Catesby, one of the alleged leaders of the Gunpowder Plot and his own distant ancestor, in the BBC drama Gunpowder. The other episodes of My Grandparents’ War will feature Hollywood A-lister Keira Knightley, acclaimed actor Toby Jones and singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé.
