{"id":11064,"date":"2022-02-25T12:04:40","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T11:04:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/?p=10044"},"modified":"2022-02-25T12:29:12","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T11:29:12","slug":"dont-miss-rootstech-connect-on-3-5-march","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/wdytya\/rss_feed\/dont-miss-rootstech-connect-on-3-5-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Don\u2019t miss RootsTech Connect on 3-5 March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By Rosemary Collins\n                \t\t<\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Friday, 25 February 2022 at 12:00 am<\/p><hr class=\"no-tts wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>RootsTech, the world\u2019s largest family history show, will return online as RootsTech Connect on 3-5 March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>RootsTech was launched by <a href=\"\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/getting-started\/best-free-genealogy-websites\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">free genealogy website<\/a> FamilySearch in 2011, but the event was held in Salt Lake City, with steep charges to attend.<\/p>\n<p>After the 2020 event was cancelled because of the covid pandemic, RootsTech brought it online for <a href=\"\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/news\/familysearch-announces-rootstech-2021\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">RootsTech Connect 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event proved such a success that it\u2019s <a href=\"\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/news\/familysearch-announces-rootstech-connect-2022\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">returning this year<\/a>, with RootsTech promising \u201ca hybrid online and in-person model\u201d from 2023 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, RootsTech has announced a programme of inspiring keynote speakers from around the world to talk about their family history.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s speakers include Apollonia Poil\u00e2ne, who runs her world-renowned family business, the Poil\u00e2ne Bakery in Paris; actor Matthew Modine, known for <em>The Dark Knight Rises<\/em> and <em>Stranger Things<\/em>; and three-time world champion boxer Samuel Azumah Nelson.<\/p>\n<p>RootsTech Connect also offers a programme of 1,500 sessions with practical tips on family history research from different countries, plus the chance to connect virtually with fellow family historians.<\/p>\n<p>Leading family history companies and organisations will also have stalls in the virtual Expo Hall \u2013 including <em>Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine<\/em>.
