We caught up with Natalie for a quick chat to find out more about the event.<\/p>\n
What made you come up with the idea of #HistoryForUkraine?<\/strong><\/p>\n It came to me in the shower in a real light bulb moment! I\u2019d been reading the news, and like most people, I was just appalled. I felt a real desperate desire to do something but felt helpless. I\u2019m a big believer of focusing on what you can do rather than what you can\u2019t, so I think that thought process was working away in my subconscious.<\/p>\n How much support have you had from people?<\/strong><\/p>\n The support has been incredible! I expected some excitement from the genealogy community, because it is so close knit and people are very supportive\u2026but to get all sorts of different historians willing to come together to help, has been magical.<\/p>\n What sort of talks will there be and who will be giving them?<\/strong><\/p>\n All sorts! We\u2019ve got talks on finding out about the lives of women in different time periods, we\u2019ve got DNA talks, we\u2019ve got everything from Mary Queen of Scots to Queer History.<\/p>\n How will the event run?<\/strong><\/p>\n The event will be livestreamed via social media (Twitter, YouTube<\/a>) over 24 hours.
