The Archives and Records Association (ARA) is asking members of the public to nominate their favourite record-keeping service or record keeper for recognition in the ARA Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n

The Awards are returning in 2022 after a two-year break during the covid pandemic.<\/p>\n

There are three categories for which anyone can suggest a nomination, including self-nominations: the Distinguished Service Award, which \u201crecognises individual conservators, archivists or records managers for career-long achievement and\/or outstanding work\u201d; Record Keeper of the Year, which \u201cacknowledges achievement by an individual archivist, conservator or records manager within the last eighteen months at any career stage\u201d; and Record Keeping Service of the Year, which \u201crecognises achievements by an archive, conservation or records management service or operation within the last eighteen months\u201d.<\/p>\n

The fourth category, the New Professional of the Year Award, is not open to public nominations or self nomination.<\/p>\n

To nominate an archive service or professional who you believe deserves an award, go to the ARA website<\/a>, download and complete the nomination form and email it to the ARA.<\/p>\n

The deadline for nominations is 1 June.<\/p>\n

Winners will be announced at ARA\u2019s 2022 Conference in Chester on 1 September.<\/p>\n

The ARA represents archive services in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n
