Family historians have the chance to win a free Premium membership to family history website Findmypast<\/a> in a new competition.<\/p>

Findmypast announced the competition as it unveiled a new set of tools in its old newspaper<\/a> collection.<\/p>

Findmypast\u2019s \u2018Pro\u2019 subscription package<\/a> offers access to the British Newspaper Archive<\/a>, with nearly 72 million pages of historic newspapers.<\/p>

In addition, Findmypast offers free access to 28 million articles in the collection to non-subscribers.<\/p>

Findmypast has now added a clipping tool which allows users to add a newspaper article with their relative\u2019s name in it to their family tree.<\/p>

In addition, Findmypast added a smarter search function, with features including allowing users to search for full or partial names, search multiple titles at once, sort titles by relevance or date, try combinations of keywords.<\/p>

Jen Baldwin, Research Specialist at Findmypast, said: \u201cWith these new and improved features on Findmypast, it\u2019s easier than ever to start searching \u2013 I can guarantee some surprises await as you uncover things you won\u2019t find in other records.\u201d<\/p>

To celebrate the launch, Findmypast is inviting family historians to share the \u201clife-changing, heartbreaking, or just downright jaw-dropping\u201d discoveries about their family history they\u2019ve made in the Findmypast newspaper collection, for a chance to win a free Findmypast \u2018Premium\u2019 subscription.<\/p>

The Premium subscription is the only way of accessing the 1921 census<\/a> for England and Wales<\/a> online.<\/p>

To enter your family history discoveries in the competition, simply email them to discoveries@findmypast.com<\/a> by 30 November 2023.<\/p> <\/body><\/html>\n
