A series of clues will be provided to encourage people to explore the story of the Griffiths family, whose five sons &#8211; Hugh, Richard John, Nicholas, Ernest Evan Quinton and Reginald Stanley &#8211; all fought in the First World War.<\/p><p>Each weekend there will be a different collection made completely free to use, culminating in the final Remembrance weekend when all of their records will be freely available.<\/p><p>These are the weekends with the records that will be made free to researchers:<\/p><ul><li><strong>18-21 October:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/feature\/12-best-websites-for-tracing-british-first-world-war-soldiers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">First World War records<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/tutorials\/1911-census\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1911 census<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/getting-started\/finding-birth-marriage-and-death-records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">birth, marriage and death records<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>25-28 October:<\/strong> Findmypast&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/tutorials\/old-newspapers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newspaper<\/a> archives.<\/li><li><strong>1-4 November:<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/tutorials\/10-things-you-should-know-about-the-1939-register\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1939 Register<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>8-11 November: <\/strong>All Findmypast records, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whodoyouthinkyouaremagazine.com\/feature\/when-will-the-1921-census-be-available\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1921 census<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul> <\/body><\/html>\n<hr class=\"no-tts wp-block-separator\"\/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Published: Friday, 18 October 2024 at 09:00 AM Findmypast, one of Britain&#8217;s leading family history websites, is offering free access to a different set of its records each weekend for the next four weekends in the run-up to Remembrance Day on 11 November.
